2008
Capital + SAFI was established after Capital S.A. successfully introduced Bolivia’s first UFV Bond, first Soy Bond, and first Commercial Paper instrument (promissory note).
2011
Launch of the first fund: Sembrar Micro Capital SMC.
2012
Launch of the second fund: Sembrar Alimentario SEM.
2014
Development of Industry Analysis Structure, Competitive Forces and Evolution, our proprietary strategic analysis tool.
2015
Partnership with the Kellogg Lab at the Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
Launch of the third fund: Sembrar Productivo SPF.
Alpaca Export: We collaborated on a CSR initiative supporting the export of high-quality alpaca wool handicrafts, textiles, and accessories made by Bolivian artisans.
2016
Senda Verde: We collaborated on a CSR initiative focused on rescuing and sheltering animals affected by illegal trafficking and habitat destruction, while inspiring people to value and protect nature.
2017
Launch of the fourth fund: Sembrar Exportador SFI.
Opening and relocation to our new offices in the southern area of La Paz.
Wharton Executive Education – Venture Capital Program: Testimonial by Jorge Quintanilla, Founding Partner and CEO of Capital + SAFI.
2018
Caño Negro: We collaborated on a CSR initiative to help create a protected and safe destination for sport fishing in the heart of the pristine Bolivian Amazon.
2019
Implementation of our new Corporate Governance Policy.
Company-wide training in executive writing, significantly improving the quality of documents, reports, and other business materials.
2020
Capital + SAFI became the first regional asset manager to complete IFC’s Sustainable Finance Training Program.
2021
Harvard Business School published the case study “Building governance to take Capital + SAFI to the next level.”
2022
Capital + SAFI sponsored and participated in the 1st International Sustainable Finance Forum in Bolivia.
CDP selected us for a case study highlighting ESG and sustainability objectives through investment operations and corporate engagement within the ICAP pillars.
Shared value training was delivered both to flagship portfolio companies and to Capital + SAFI staff.
